Some useful interior design tips for creating that bachelor’s pad that you’ll love coming home to – making it more user-friendly, comfortable and fun to live in. Remember it’s your space, no one else’s. So make it your own.

1) Always choose the simplest option. When it comes to Bachelor pads, less is more. Simple means easier to install, easier to clean and easier to use. Keep things minimal and uncluttered. Relaxing, clean lines are easy to live with and maintain.

2) Have a feature piece/object in the main room that you can enjoy and/or relate to eg. pool table, record collection, mini bar etc..

3) Include what you really want, and eliminate anything you don’t like or won’t use. Don’t go spending money on a professional cooking range if you don’t cook. However, if you do love to cook, go ahead and hang that top of the range pot rack or have that cutting board inset installed in your counter. Show-off those things that you know how to back up. Look for items that express who you are. Too many single men furnish their homes with items that have no relevance to them at all. Don’t waste this opportunity. If you love your luxury items, get that big leather couch in front of a giant flat-screen, next to your mini-bar filled with the A-Z of liquor. Or if you love your art, make sure to have your artistic inspiration on display. Whatever it is, create the man cave that your friends with partners dream about every night..

Baking was not always my strong point but I do from time to time give it ago, here is a yummy christmas treat, so easy to make for any special guest coming around for parties or for the little ones. This recipe is quick, fun and easy. everyone will love. For me, any cake  would do but a simple cupcake would be better. I promise you will not regret it!

200 grams - unsalted butter, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup brown sugar

3 eggs

2 ½ cups of self-rising flour, sifted

½  cup of milk

1 pack of 24 gold cupcake cases

Method:

Step 1 Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced oven. Line muffin or mini-muffin pans with paper cases. 

Step 2 Using an electric mixer, beat butter, vanilla and sugar in a small bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each addition (mixture will separate at this stage). Transfer mixture to a large bowl. Stir in half the flour. Stir in half the milk. Repeat with remaining flour and milk until combined.

Step 3 Scoop mixture with ice cream scooper, 1 scoop fits in 1 cupcake case perfectly.

Step 4 Bake for 15 to 17 minutes. If using smaller cupcake cases. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Step 5 Stand cakes in pans for 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Step 2 Bag into piping bag for cake decoration. Now decorate however you want.

My new year has begun at the end of 2011. When I was graduating from high school, a new life will soon begin as I started to plan the next chapter of my life, college. What will happen to me now from this point, for me it was such an awesome day. No more school is no more. I'm an adult I can do anything. That whole week went by like a flash it was so fast. All I did is sleep, eat and watch television all day. I began to do nothing and nothing, so I starting to write what I wanted to do in life, am I going to college, work, stay at home forever? I did not know the next chapter of my life. It stayed like that for while and lots of other things happened..........

Late 2012, somehow I did not know I decided that I will go to college, choices were interior design, graphic design or architecture.

It was Interior Design!

Everyone thought that interior design was all about designing and decorating the interior of a home.

It was nothing like that, nothing like you thought all, lecturer/ teacher were great, only some. First semester started, it began with an afternoon class from 5 to 9pm there were 10 to 15 people in the class, all of my classmates were older than me, only a couple are my age. We began learning about drawing and doing things with hands. It all felt like it had nothing to do with interior design, more like an art class after school for children..........

From time to time I think a good design is what you think it looks pretty and stylish, but on paper and according to the teachers, it was wrong, It was more of design, function, ergonomic, construction and all the shitty things that need a home t function and livable by people.

But all things teachers says are true, but I feel that we are learning things that we may never use in life ever again, just like subject in high school, like history, chemistry and all other boring subject that still now I have never used it..........

All these interiors are many of my favourite works done by great designers, simple but yet elegant and functional in many ways. Teachers might dislike all these designs because they all have their own thoughts about it and that's fine. Who cares about them in the end once I graduate it's all about me and my future client who will like or dislike my design..........
